Got some new toys turn up
Need to get the Mistress up on ramps and get these on
what are these then? which section?
ive got all the nut/olt/rivet packets but havent opened any yet
got any other tips?
They replace the 2 nuts per side that fasten the rear diffuser to the bumper and the 2 nuts for the bolts that fasten the diffuser to the brackets at the back as they are very difficult to reach.
The other thing you can do is modify the panel that bolts on to the engine cover, to add a scoop to provide cool air to the gearbox as it does get hot.
This is going to be really good. I guess it also protects the underside from rust but how will you manage the heatload? Really looking forward to this. My brother was talking about this being an aspect of car performance improvement; good to see MX5 ND has parts ready for this.
Edit* - Just thought. How will you service the car? Things need to be checked underside. I can’t see a Mazda dealer going to the trouble of removing the panels.
They engine panel has to be removed to change the oil and the scoop panel has to be removed to change the gearbox oil. The cooling scoop panel replaces the oem plastic panel.
thanks @BlueAgave , really useful tips
Did you fit the front splitter? i want mine fitted with the oem splitter removed. i cant find any pics of this online. i asked Versus directly and they said ‘yes, you can fit it without the oem splitter’, but the sideskirts (which i didnt get anyway) required the oem side skirts before install.
I dont like the look of the double splitter up front. and, i cant afford to lose half inch (ish) of ground clearence at the nose
I have fitted the front splitter but prefer it combined with the aero kit spoiler. You dont lose very much ground clearance and it will be more effective.
I have a set of side skirts for sale for £75 if you are interested? You don’t need the OE Mazda side skirts to fit them, I didn’t. Just fit with rivnuts.
