hi all. Ever since I bought my RF launch two small areas of rust of weather strips around windows have always bothered me on drivers side
- The rust on main weatherstrip. I have found part for this on mx5 parts but as it’s RH side it’s out of stock for 4-6 weeks. Anyone managed to source one of these from elsewhere? A couple of vids on YouTube show how to replace these so I’m all good with this
- A small bit of rust on the quarter window at the front of drivers side window. I don’t know where to buy a replacement part and also can’t find any instructions on how to replace it. Has anyone got any experience with sourcing and fitting a replacement?
The rust where the horizontal and vertical weather strips meet is a known defect for which Mazda have a TSB (Service Bulletin) mine were replaced under warranty. There isn’t enough clearance and they rub against each other when the car is in motion causing them to rust.

Does the TSB give guidance on part numbers and also how to remove and fit replacement?

Thanks all now to decide if the quarter glass strip is as easy to replace as the weather strip
Decided to only replace the door to window weatherstrip. The vertical strip seemed an extreme amount of removal and reassembly
