While doing some welding on my MK1 H223 BGK . Lifted all the carpeting from the floor. Here we found some Japanese Yen. Just to further authentic it’s import statis.

Fairly common from back then.
I got one! Just one! Miserable sods!
I was informed many moons back they were included as some sort of safe journey/good fortune Shinto “blessing”. In my view, they are part of the car’s history of a bygone era, and ought to be preserved and even reintroduced back to the car.
Just in case…
