Where did you end up going for welding @Stuart_D?
Would be interesting to know as I am Manchester/Warrington based

Hi Ian - I struggled to find someone, but in the end I asked a guy who has a small garage in southport who has looked after the car for most of its life.
He has a guy who does welding for him, and met up with him - seemed to be a good guy, so it’s currently with him having sill / floor work and a full respray

Will let you know how it looks when I get it back if you like ?

Always interested to see how welding repairs are completed, especially mk3 as they come to that age. Would be good to see finished job…

Bit of a trek perhaps, but there is an MX-5 specialist in Rhos-on-sea North Wales (https://www.facebook.com/penrhynservicestation/) who does all welding repairs.
