What annoys you about your MX-5?

I can turn my mercedes Ocado van in less space then my NC1 . NOT Joking.

Wish I could. I’ll be moving to Thailand, not allowed to import a used car. The cheapest MX-5, of any mark, is the NC, starting at Ā£16,000. NBs start at Ā£18,000, NAs start at Ā£24,000, NDs start at Ā£31,000.

Thailand has just brought a law in allowing cars 30 years or older to come in, but they need to be worth Ā£16,000, and you are paying a 40% duty on that……..

This is what import duties do to a market. BMWs and Mercedes are frankly worthless, because they were locally built.

This is what a Ā£34,000 NA MX-5 looks like. All the badging is factory standard…..

Pretty sure the majority of MX-5 owners have a screw loose!

Yes those sprinters have a fab turning circle. Have driven many, including for Ocado too :+1:

I don’t think the turning circle on my NC3 is too bad really. My wife had a ford Ka sport, the soft top one years ago, now that was terrible , I had to do a 3 point turn on a mini roundabout once, that was embarrassing :shaking_face:

I also have an intermittent rattle sounds like it’s behind the dash, like 2 metals rubbing together maybe a bracket as you say? I try and ignore it but it does drive me potty sometimes

I have and ND1 and have to put up with a persistent amber warning because I have turned off Lane assist. I believe this has been rectified in one of the facelifts.

I also have a rattle over my left shoulder that is not the wind deflector or passenger rollover hoop casing. I’ll likely put a Perspex deflector in and go hoking about during that install.

Digital dash speed readout on my 30AE.

Totally agree.

What digital speed readout, I didn’t know any ND had one?

It’s what annoys me about my MX-5 - it doesn’t have one!

Agreed. That persistent amber warning light on the dash of the ND1 is a PITA

No door pockets……who cares!

Well, might I recommend a NextBase 522 or equivalent dash cam. just above your eye line where it won’t draw comments from the MOT inspector. Mine in my NB is set to the default of current speed. which works a treat for digitally deprived folk.

I often wonder why they never incorporated a bit of storage in to the door armrest.

They are quite easy to clean out , make sure you get the flex wire with the brush on the end . Don’t worry about taking the trim off either it’s quite easy too ..

2023 ND windows squeak going up or down after rain.

This cured my squeaking windows

Where did you apply it?

You spray both the inside of the rubber (felt) strips at the top of the door. Lower the glass first and give them a liberal coat.

Sounds great. And doesn’t leave smears on the glass afterwards forever?
