What are the current site statistics?

Hello chaps, I get the feeling this transition hasn’t been great…

I was just wondering what visitor numbers and postings had been like since the change…as i can’t help but notice that it’s not quite as ‘fast paced’ as it used to be…i.e there are lots of forums that have gone 2 days without postings…

So what are the current stats?

Also if you actually want to take my humble opinion (i know you won’t but anyway) there are too many forums and subforums…and it hurts my eyes when i look at it! can i suggest consolidating problems back down to problems and at least putting the sections back to how they were on the old forum…purely because it would at least be then recognizable.

Of course having a social forum to promote a community feeling wouldnt go amiss either…

Also why has my text all bunched up and it’s ignoring the spacing?

some stats are available on the front page of the forum right at the bottom

894 users have contributed to 2,348 threads and 3,212 posts.

In the past 24 hours, we have 38 new thread(s), 144 new post(s), and 24 new user(s).

In the past 3 days, the most popular thread for everyone has been “Mazda MX5 first car??”. The post with the most views is " 1997 R MX5 mk1 1.8i in silver with red leather (Edinburgh)". The most replies were made to “Mazda MX5 first car??”.

Fergy…how come your text spaces out correctly?

Mine doesn’t?

If it’s because the forum doesn’t support safari, then sorry but thats the camel that breaks the bail of straw.

You’re not the first person for whom line spacing doesn’t work.  I gather it is browser related, but not specifically safari.  Search arouund any you may find an update on the likelihood of a fix.

 Lets try firefox then

I’m guessing it will work with this, but tbh i don’t use firefox…this is positively annoying and will also make the forum hell to read…

Same here - paras rarely work on IE7 or Safari for me

So we’ve basically deduced, that I can put spaces in if i use firefox, which is ok at home and over in the office, but not over here in the edit suite…

Martin, didn’t you think to check browser compatibility before implementing the system?

How do those stats compare to old forum? (oops - nearly typed “proper” forum [:$])

Stats

Old forum, ran from end November 2002

272986 threads posted in 2190 days = 124 posts per day

New forum  running from end November 2008

4822 threads posted in 30 days=160 posts per day

Please don’t pick the figs apart, they are fairly accurate, but I haven’t taken leap years into account, and the start date for the new forum is only approximate [taken from Martins post in the members section of the old forum]----

I use IE7 all the time and sometimes it works and sometimes not. I can even answer one post with it working , then go to another straight after and it doesn’t.

Same applies to the quote bit and the edit bittons and the back button.  sometimes they are there and work and sometimes not , very fustrating !!!.
