To be honest I find it a bit too loud, could be something to do with my age though!!
Sounds great when you’re in the mood, especially with the top down, but does tend to be a bit monotonous around town / at lower speeds. It’s a very good fit and seems to be a good quality system, with no tarnishing of the tailpipe, even after two winters worth of salt!
I’m tempted to swap for something else, a twin box system would be the one for me.
I’m likeing it!! I assume that it’s going to need the normal 300 miles or so to “bed-in” and coke up the insides before it’s true voice is settled. The sound is true American “rice-burner” I think. It’s a lovely deep, muffled sound. Mine is doing a few quite muffled pops on the overrun that are only audiable with the windows down and you’re driving near a wall/shop etc to bounce the sound off. I’m hoping that they’ll get a bit louder with a few more miles on the exhaust.
I’m loving the look of the tailpipe.
Oh, apparrently fitting was a bit of a nightmare. The pipe is supposed to slip inside the pipe that comes from the cat, but the garage said that there was aboulutely no way that it would do that. He figured that this exhaust is manufactred for the American Miata, which may have a different bore exhaust. So in the end he acutally welded the magnaflow midpipe to the pipe coming from the cat.
It will bed in a little with a few miles on it. I’ve had a look underneath mine and yes the mid section does sleeve over the original centre section, it does not bolt up to the cat. As you say, US spec Miata may be different?
