Underneath spruce up with minor paint touchups, body schutz and cleaning aplenty. Wheels tomorrow.
There’s always a lot of splash up behind the back valance that needs cleaning out so it’s not just the paintwork, Don’t know what I’d do with the other pair so they may as well go on tomorrow. Wish I had @Davy_F ‘s workshop instead of having to park up on the curb with the pressure washer. ![]()
Very tidy!
Who’s the seller? Curious yo aee if they have them for the NC.
I think they’re universal, one size fits all. They use the same pic in every listing and what I got was exactly as shown. I drilled my own holes to clip in.
Just thought of all the motorway miles I’ve been behind a s**tbox Peugeot or a 4x4 in torrential rain and wished THEY had rear mudflaps as my wipers struggle to cope.
I will fit the rears tomorrow not for myself but for humanity ![]()
Awwww. You’re such a caring person! ![]()
Eventually got round to fitting the two piece brake discs saving just over 1 kg per corner and also some brake cooling ducts which go through the fog lights on the bumper but also have a nifty screw in blank for when not needing cooling, could be good for road cars not wanting to fill the ducts up with crud but in my case thought will be fitted for sprinting and left out for cooling on track day and test days etc.
I absolutely swear by Rain-X for this situation. When it’s applied properly I’ve been able to drive in the pouring rain (at a reasonable speed) and not needed the wipers at all because the water just slides up and over.
I’ve been using it on my best cars for years unfortunately I’ve spent the last three years tramping the roads in hire cars and have noticed that things like the Yaris Crossover etc with the wheels right at the back corner tend to have plumes like a jet-ski behind them.
My Ex once cleaned the inside of the windscreen with Rain-X, condensation would move but wouldn’t wipe off. It would form larger and larger drops. I had to have bar towels all over the dash to catch the drips.
Did they change the gearbox oil on your 5th service?
Do you now what they used, if they did, and if so, how is it post service?
i love rainX.
for the first 10 wiper activations, then its basically worn off!
even with coats ive never had that stay on.
i use ‘G-Tech’ now, that stuff lasts for months and months.
if you like rainx, give that a go. pricey stuff, but amazing.
edit - G-tech was a bit lazy of me. its: ‘‘Gtechniq G1 ClearVision Smart Glass’’
Delivery from Bofi-racing this morning so a quick job over lunch fitted the fire safety stick to the performance delta mount, not a requirement in the class I compete in but recommended and I think a good idea ……. And some tiny APR performance carbon fibre door mirrors
Yes, gearbox oil changed on the fifth service.
I bought the oil from Mazda (Warrington). I spoke to the Technician there and paid for two litres from their bulk supply.
I confess I can’t remember what grade of oil it was but it was recommended for my MX-5.
I have not driven the car since it was serviced and “took it easy" on the way home so the oil had a good chance to bed in.
I will report back if I notice anything different.
I embarrassed to say how few miles the car has done between services. That will change next year though when I retire ![]()
.
My dad’s got a chair and footstool like yours! ![]()
They are my dad’s i had it delivered to my parents house as I knew they’d be home
Updated the Gracenote album art database to another new version. Recently the updates have been coming out more frequently. For me the download took a while (905MB) but the actual car update was just a few mins.
I downloaded it from here where this latest version was made available a couple of weeks ago: Mazda Connect - Gracenote
