What have you Photographed lately?

Very, very nice!
And that’s a good price for a bare board of that high quality.
My only quibble about it is gold-flashed solder pads. How thick is the gold?

Many years ago in the Nagra 1/4" tape machines we needed to resolder any connection that had gold on a surface, simply because the gold had dissolved the adjacent solder.

The manufacturer used the best possible Mil-spec transistors that had gold plated legs because they were designed to be quick-change-plug-in to gold plated sockets. However these were soldered into this machine and after maybe a year the transistor could literally fall out of the PCB. Once re-soldered, the gold was fully saturated and the problem went away.

On my last design the pads were gold flashed, but it was very, very thin and mostly there as an aid to the flow-solder penetration.

Nice , I ran B&W P4’s years ago on stereo, also B&W home cinema package before swapping them out for M&K k4 and tripole rears.
All through Denon AVC A1XV.

Still have an Oppo Bluray, it’s class even by today’s standards.

I have no idea, Richard. In 60 years designing and building af and rf circuits, I never came across that problem. (BC109s used to have gold legs.) In this case, I decided that Douglas Self knows his onions and measurements on the finished amplifier are superb. However, I don’t usually work with pc boards, except for digital circuitry, prefering point to point wiring on old-fashioned perf board. These days I mainly build for my own pro audio use microphones, and low noise amplifiers. In this case, I decided that designing a layout was too much work!

Have you gone up in the Funivia Lagazuoi cable car to ski down the “Hidden Valley” to reach the Sella Ronda?

Some spectacular photo opportunities when I last did it, but my camera battery was frozen up, and the others in SCGB wanted to get on and do the whole Sella Ronda as well.
