I Spent an hour hunting down a horrible vibration that was buzzing through the cabin between 2000 and 5000 rpm and found the culprit was a wiring harness clamp in the engine bay was not attached to anything and resting against the bulkhead.
I have no idea what it is supposed to bolt to. It doesn’t twist and reach any bolts or holes in the area. The nearest that i might be able to stretch it to reach is the lower rear bolt that attaches the intake manifold to the head. See pic:
Can someone please check their engine bay and post a pic of what their’s is bolted to?
Robbie, it looks like you hit the jack pot. I forced the bracket below the baulkhead and low and behold it almost lines up with one of the startor bolts. See pic. You can also see where the wide scratch where the bracket has been against the baulkhead for such along time.
To get the bracket in position I have to put a considerable stress on the harness which is pulling against the clutch hose bracket on the g/box bellhousing. Either the harness has been in the current position for a long time and doesn’t want to go back to the way it should be, or the harness is routed incorrectly. I need to make sure I reinstall it in the correct position as I don’t want to put unnecessary stress on the clutch hose bracket.
That pic of another engine bay would be useful to determine this.
