2025 nearly over…..
Correct. Went down well.
Every Friday I go to my local Wetherspoons, which always has three guest ales, in addition to three regular ales.
There’s always one to my fancy. They currently have a Citra on, albeit it’s not the one I have enjoyed previously. Jaipur is a lovely pint, but at something like 6%, is a bit strong.
Wetherspoons are terrific value for sampling ales. My local charges a mere £2.10 a pint, trying paying that for a beer in London!
I’ll continue going weekly to sample their amazing array of ales. I still cannot fathom why many still drink lager, which is not only more expensive, but is a fizzy, often tasteless, chemical concoction, compared to a living and breathing real ale, which have real depth of flavour and character.
My local micro brewery extracts the hard lime from their water supply and adds in Epsom Salts! American hops used.
Uttoxeter, the home of the Midlands Grand National, Olympian Adam Peaty, Bart Gorman (bare knuckle champion) and Harry Grout from Porridge (actor Peter Vaughan)
The chemicals used are to counter the eggy smell of Burton beers, called the Burton Snatch.
The one on the right is a pint of Fancy Juice (or Funcy if you’re local to these parts), on the left a half of 0.5 Rhubarb Pale Ale.
