Full Orchestra could be pricey. Not going to be anything left in the pot after I’ve MOTed, serviced and taxed the Transit.

So plan B.

Storm the last night of the proms and start playing in front of the Albert Hall house band. Should be able to get a few bars off before security realise what’s happening. TV exposure and as they say, any publicity is good publicity.

Yeah, let’s go for it - the publicity will be great!!!

Shall I stop writing ‘This Thread is Dead?’ I can orchestrate it too! :musical_keyboard: :guitar: :saxophone: :violin:

RE the Trannie, Roadie - reckon there’s enough expertise on the forum to sort it easily!

Re the Horns - gotta have 'em - Steely Dan!!!

Dire Straits, Sultans of Swing.

Then a crowd of young boys, they’re foolin’ around in the corner
Drunk and dressed in their best, brown baggies and their platform soles
They don’t give a damn about any trumpet playin’ band
It ain’t what they call rock and roll.

Yep, that would have been me. :+1:t2::wink:

Saw Knopfler with the Notting Hillbillies.

What a guitarist. Stood less than 5 metres away and watched every move - amazing!

Still think we need horns!

This is what causes bands to split up stating musical differences.

Guess I’d better press on with “Is This Thread Dead”

I mean look what Rumours did for Fleetwood Mac!!!

“This thread is dead” could work as a ‘the smiths’ styled title?

Apart from once trying to make noise on a bass guitar, did meet Robert Plant backstage at Cambridge Corn Exchange in 2014 when he signed a Stained Glass Mandolin built by my brother, which was going to be auctioned to raise funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust…
Then got best seats in the house, courtesy of Robert, to watch his show..
