… or whatever his name was? He disappeared off here a couple of years ago promising to come back with something that would really turn heads. He had three or four 5’s I seem to remember.
Anyone heard from him or seen him recently?
He bought a TVR
i did catch up with him at one point.
he modified his TVR, he retired and spent a lot of time sea fishing off the coast of Scotland.
Now that name rings a bell…
may have been before my time on the forum (a couple of years or more), but his name was also the password for a pdf file I paid for on ebay for a cd mx5 workshop manual
Soon replaced the manual with a proper Rod’s version [H]
Me too!
a couple of years ago ! its was over 4 years since his last post on old forum, I first met him on a run in early 2004, he bought lots of 5s, did lots too them, did a Lands End to JohnOgroats charity run, that a lot of us got involved in then sort of disappeared…
A real character, it would be good to know what he is up to now.
I spoke with him a couple of years ago, we became good mates after he and a couple of others camped on my lawn during the Lands End to John O Groats run. His health wasn’t too good at the time, and as someone else mentioned he took up fishing in his usual enthusiastic way. One of lifes characters and we need more like him…
He was a good guy. I met him at my first ever JAE. He was very enthusiastic about the cars
and the club. I remember when on the way from doing that Lands End to John O’Groats run
he drove from Scotland to Essex for me to stick some ‘Greddy’ graphics on one of his cars.
Do you all remember ‘Mack’ his Westie ?? He travelled with him everywhere !!
I miss his presence on the forum - a real character and all round good egg. Nice to hear he’s still around.
For those that remember - do you reckon he’s now doing videos of himself fishing, and posting those on fishing forums?? [:D]
Here’s Mac and thr Greddy beast-------
I remember taking him for a spin in my first Roadster the one with the AVO turbo, back in the days when FI was not quite so common. It was wet but Mack was well impressed. I think he was looking into turbo options that evening and was bolting one on within a couple of months.
I think we were at a pre run meet for a run around the Bar Hill area.
He always had a lot of enthusiasm and always was good for a chat.
I’,m sure it was one of Daz’s famous Cambridge runs in the wet, possibly the very first one! I remember LLM and your goodself being there… it rained all day, [st]
It is a little known fact that Daz is in fact a rain God.
I found this old thread on the same day I found these old pics…
Loftladder Man launching his Lands End to JoG run… I did a press release for him…
He moved onto TVRs soon after the run, but haven’t heard from him for years
Yes Mine too!
