Assume that I have zero intention of going on track days and similar in my mk2.5, what’s the view on comfort levels for longer runs when comparing the standard tombstone mk2.5 seats against an aftermarket Sparco?
Standard are way more comfortable and easier to get in and out of.Unless track car obviously
I agree with MX5 123 in that Mazda std seats would be better than an aftermarket seat.
Most, if not all, after market seats are made solely to keep you in the seat and don’t allow much in the way of comfort. I don’t think there would be any market for “more comfortable” seats than the manufacturer installs.
Sparco make great seats, I have bought them but they weren’t particularly comfortable on a long run!
I know you are doing everything you can to keep using your car and I commend that!
My thanks for the feedback guys, much appreciated.
Just exploring options and ideas above all else. Guess I’ll keep the existing seats.
Think the next idea will be the alcantara steering wheel from Royal Wheels. Now THAT I do fancy. Get the impression that it would be sub £150, so not even that expensive. And after all, it’s about the only thing you constantly touch whilst driving, so why not do it well.
Other than that, my MX is really coming together. It’s been serviced, some minor electrical bits done, wheels are down to a lightweight set of 15". New tyres and spigots go on tomorrow. Stereo is now an Alpine mechless. Unless I go into forced induction (which feels frankly pointless for the driving that I do), I don’t think there’s much else to do beyond enjoying it.
