Hi there, I’m new to the forum and would like to say hello and ask for a bit of advice. I bought a new 05 1.8 icon and have had nothing but problems with the front wheel bearings, they have been replaced by the main dealer three times (they said it was a duff batch of bearings) and have now gone again! The last time they were replaced they also changed the stub axle as they said it could be the only other problem. Well obviously that’s not the case and now I’m a bit unsure what to do, the car has only done 41000 miles. Has anyone else had this problem? Any help would be much appreciated.
Wheel bearings are not known to be flaky on a 5.
The normal cause of this would be overtightening the hub nuts but as a main dealer did the job that shouldn’t be the cause.
I hope that Mazda are pursuing a fix F.O.C. as it appears that their main dealer has been aware of this ongoing problem since the car was new.
