Has anyone heard of a problem with repeated wheel bearing failure. I have an 05 1.8 icon and have had the front bearings changed 3 times. They have now gone again and the warranty has now run out. Doh!! Only done 41000 miles.

What issues are you experiencing with the wheel bearings? A droning noise or a clicking noise on turning? How long has does the new bearing stop the noise for? Repeated failure seems odd. To be honest a single failure is rare on a car that old.

I get a droning noise coming from the front bearings which gradually gets worse until replaced. So far it’s been fixed under warranty but now that’s expired. The dealer can’t seem to find anything wrong with it although they’ve changed the passenger side bearings once and the drivers side twice including the stub axle. Now the drivers side has gone again and the garage has agreed to look at it but I’m not too sure they’ll do much! I bought it new from the dealer and as far as I’m aware any ongoing problem with a car should be repaired or replaced under sale of goods act. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
