Only one way to find out. And this has to be the best time of year to try it.
I got not very far with my Arctic, but there were only two for sale in the dealer network at the time, and the one I was looking at was the cheaper of the two. If the dealer hadn’t known that he would have been incompetent. Honour was just about satisfied with a full tank of BP Ultimate. My problem was that I really wanted it…
If you want a ‘new’ price then try Drive the Deal. They don’t do pre-reg, they are all UK dealer supplied, and you can pay when you collect it. Back in September, a new 1.5 SE-L Nav with metallic paint was £18,700. There were bigger % discounts on some other models in the range. Depending how the quarter/year end is going, they might get cheaper than that in December.
I’ve always found that cash gets the biggest discount of all, although Mazda weren’t offering enough discount back in 2013 to get a sale. We eventually went with a Ford Fiesta because we managed to negotiate about 15% off the full price, or £2500 to be exact. The Mazda 2 we were looking at, they would only take £1200 off. Though they did offer a few other extras like the Diamond Brite paint treatment and a full tank of petrol. I’d expect 10% at least off as a cash customer, and walk away if I didn’t get it. £1000 off a 2015 ND should be a reasonable ask. But go in looking for more if you want to settle at the £1000 off. Always be prepared to walk away, you can always come back a few days later and try again. But never go back and accept their last offer, always look for something between where the last 2 offers were left. Remember, they’ve also had time to reflect and they want your money more than you need their car.
