A rather wet and windy Bedford autodrome, but still lots of fun.
Is that the one that was photographed outside the AA box in Norfolk ?
Hi Raymond, unfortunately not, that car owned by another member is a beautiful example
Yes… It was a Lovely Example …. I’ve left the club now, Sold my car, it now lives just outside of Manchester , The guy likes it, He’s been out with the top down. Anyway, Thanks for your reply. Take care …
Ray and Sue, Epping Essex ….
Like you Ray, I didn’t renew subscription, however, it’s amazing that I still get likes, badges and messages I’ve had a great time with the club, made some great friends and learnt a lot! Take care and stay safe.
Barrie
Yes, Like yourself I have had a good time with the club too,
As Car clubs go, the MX5 club is right up there with the best,
However, ( understandably ) has a limit on what can be discussed in general chat ! Some seem Scared of their own shadow ….
The two things the World needs at this moment it to discuss Politics and Religion…
But both deemed too ‘ Taboo a subject for open discussion… It’s as if a strangle hold is placed upon free speech. Just as with the MSM… (Media) So for that reason I’m glad to be leaving … Apart from the other reason. I’ve sold my lovely little MX5 … I will miss it
take care and have a good onward life, . Bless you
From Ray and Sue
Down to the new Arena in Swansea to see Squeeze
Just dropped my 2.5 off at Select Auto repairs in Skewen for repairs to wing and door caused by elderly neighbour a few weeks ago. Agreed a price for them to paint the bonnet too,so that will get rid of millions of little stone chips.
Spotted up there on a lift a silver 2.5 undergoing rear arch repairs.
Away on holidays for a couple of weeks,so hopefully my car will be looking a lot better when I get back
Tbh you did well to turn up today. It was quite sketchy to say the least
Much better in the summer
You were lucky. I was surprised to see little or no frost first thing this morning.
I live on the Derby/Staffs border and it was -5C at 8am on Friday and our cars were iced up all day Saturday.
Temperatures here in Bournemouth have risen to a balmy 3C this afternoon so I thought I’d give The Precious (a 2005 1.8 NB) a little run out and remind the old girl she wasn’t forgotten.
It’s been down as low as -7C and the car has been covered in a rime of frost for the best part of a week, parked unused down the side of the house.
Though the battery was a bit sluggish she started up after just a couple of turns. Quite impressed with that as it still felt like Siberia out of the sun. I was half expecting to have to extract the battery and take it indoors for a charge. I warmed her up and then took a gentle cruise around unsalted streets for half an hour. Love that little car.
Mk2’s look really nice with a hardtop. Lovely colour too.
Thanks! I had actually been looking for a silver one. Missed out on a couple, then this one popped up locally on Gumtree as I was browsing. Low mileage, one local lady owner. I bought it within two hours. Couldn’t be happier with it. I like the colour too, it’s grown on me!
I’ve got a silver MK3 which is currently sat outside with its cover (frozen) on but I was really after a stormy blue one. Silver was not my first choice but it was in such good condition I couldn’t walk away from it having seen a few crusty rusty examples before hand. Yours looks mint
I do like an MX-5 in silver. But they’re all beautiful! Waited over 50 years for a roadster after lusting after MGBs and Spifires back in the 60s. The closest I got was a mk1 Cortina GT. My daughter christened mine “the Precious” (you have to say it in a Gollum voice) because she’s never seen me polish a car before. I’m besotted with it
