Honorary mention if allowed as I bottled taking the mx for a 3 hour jaunt in torrential rain at 6am but went down to brands hatch for another cracking BRSCC days racing in our daily.
Beautiful run out today to Conwy North Wales. Left Liverpool at about 10am after a breakfast in our local pub. Never touched the A55 once , taking the long way round. This was one of a few stops along the way, weather was amazing.
Sat on the quay side in Conwy and had these beauties for dinner, stilton cheese and pork pie and a cranberry and turkey pie .
Took the scenic route home from work. Such a lovely evening I wanted more topless fun than the usual 2.5 miles would have given me.
PS I usually walk or cycle to work but didn’t wake up in time…
Down to the MOT Station this morning.
Let the MOT lapse in mid March for first time in 15 years of our ownership. SORN each winter and every year when MOT time comes round and weather is still cr*p in March wish I could leave Berkeley tucked up in garage until April for TAX and MOT.
Decided to do just that this year, so from now on MOT due mid April instead of mid March (or up to a month earlier if Spring happens arrive early).
Anyway, back to the MOT Test - PASS with no advisories
Another short run today under more wonderful clear skies. This is at the newly refurbished Union Chain Bridge over the river Tweed between Fishwick in the Scottish Borders and Horncliffe in Northumberland (about 4 miles upstream of Berwick-upon-Tweed). The bridge only reopened this week having been closed since 2020.
Looks great (MX5 and scenery), especially in the brilliant sunshine.
It’s a good few years since we’ve been to the borders and we’re really looking forward to exploring the area in our 5 when we’re staying up there for a week in May around rally weekend.
Hope you enjoy your trip. I’ll be at the rally as well. If the weather’s good, a nice run from East Fortune would be over the Lammermuir Hills from Gifford (near Haddington) to Duns (Jim Clark Museum) which is not far from where the pics were taken.
Added to the to-do list
I know that road well, just down from the Cat & Fiddle.
Lovely day for it👍
Love that colour!
Ruby first in the car park at Snetterton for the first HSCC meet of the season (the roof was down prior to the photo!). A long drive from Manchester but great to be out and about in the MX-5 again. Weather looks mixed for the weekend but hopefully some great racing to come
Is that the Chilli Orange or summat?
It’s the original classic red but it does look a bit orangey in the photo
… On Saturday I was at starkeys and on Sunday I’m glad i persevered, ignored the weather forecast and also went. It was ace
Before going home I saw a little one who seemed all alone on its own so I went over and parked next to it for a bit. It definitely made the little one feel a bit better…
