Does anybody have a contact for Racing Beat exhausts? MX5Mad aren’t importing anymore ATM and don’t know when they will be. Rotecniks have gone to the wall and been bought out by a Mazda dealer, so maybe won’t be importing them either…

When I was looking I contacted Performance5.com and they could order them.
I went with the IL Motorsports one in the end as the RB was coming in at a similar price with the exchange rates as they are.

Have you got any pictures of the zorst fitted? and which one did you buy? I have looked at the Borla as well but you need to cut the main pipe [:S][:|]

Actually that’s a bit unfair, I loved my RX8 but I didnt realise how much it cost to run until after I sold it. That said, I don’t miss it as much now I’ve got the MX to play with.
I went for the single box version, mainly down to cost but I have since read a few reports of the twin box fracturing on the Y piece so I’m glad I otped for the poverty model [:D] It was dead easy to fit and sounds great. You can’t really hear it when trundling along at low revs but when you’re making progress it has a nice throaty sound. Just what I wanted really.
I also like the the fact that the tailpipes extend fully under the car enhancing the side view.
I bought my RB from rotecniks less than three weeks ago and they were operating last week (they had a rotary meet this last Saturday). What is the story about them being bought by Mazda?
They went into liquidation last year and they were in the process of being bought out and turned into a Mazda service center by Guildford Mazda. However, I think that fell through and another party bought it and has kept it as is. Not 100% sure tho.
I did try contacting them when I was exhaust shopping last month and never got a reply.
What Steve has said… I know they are very busy trying to keep things together and start again. It’s good that the rotary technical expertise is to stay together though, it would have been a real shame.
I’ve dropped them an e mail to see if they have any left as I doubt they will be buying stock at the moment. Having said that I’m liking the look of the IL one Steve. Listened to a couple of clips of the race one on you tube and they do sound ok. A similar price as well, at least getting it from MX5 parts I know it will be here next day. Is it lighter? the Borla on my 8 was about half the weight of the stock one and I know the RB is heavier than stock [:|]

Tim, I may be wrong but I think the ILM was lighter than stock, not by much but it did seem easier to manouver although that may be because it is smaller.
Do you no longer have the RB fitted then? what did you replace it with? My Borla on my RX8 always stuck out further one side to the other… never bothered me too much as it was only about 15mm.
