Where to get bits? NC2 / MK3.5 - headlight / bumper

Owing to the wonderful conditions last week, I had a mini tap in the MX5. Nothing major but it has cost me an offside headlamp and a crack to the bumper skin, so I’m looking to replace both.

MX5 parts are a little cheaper than main dealer, but does anyone know any other sources of parts, new or used. The mk3.5 / NC2 is hard to find parts for as it was such a short production run!

I got a 3.5 bumper and wing recently, he has the headlight and may have other bumpers. He is based in redcar.

3.5 parts carry a premium!

yeah i did ask… he was unwilling to post anything, and i’m not going to redcar for a headlight and bumper :slight_smile:

Bumper skins are becoming rarer as not in production any more, is it beyond the skills of a good repairer?

I would imagine so yes. I note that mazda and mx5parts can still get the skin. SO i may end up going new. The reality is that new isn’t HUGELY more expensive than used.

I’ll be sorting it out in january, but looking to gather some bits now and figure out if any clips etc are missing.

also worth noting i guess, that it wouldn’t take much for me to step up to a 3.75 / nc3 front end, as headlights are the same. But i’d need new fog surround for both sides.

They replaced my front bumper (3.75) recently (insurance job) and may be able in pointing you in the “right direction” to source a new one from.
I know not whether they use a general supply chain of a local Mazda dealer.

I got a 3.75 bumper from a seller on ebay to replace the damaged 3.5 one after a seagul strike,

Went straight on with not modifications.
