Be honest, who really checks their insurance policy is correct when it arrives through you letter box.
I don’t just mean that the registration number is correct, but the model type , trim level etc
I ask this, because when I got my insurance with Direct Line (last June), I only gave them my registration number and they told me that it was a Mazda MX5 2 dr convertible (according to their data base) and I thought nothing of it.
I just dug out my policy so that I could inform them of some mods I had fitted (alloys, SS exhaust). I noted that it they had my car down as a Mazda MX5 2 dr convertible (2000), even though the registration number I gave them was correct. It should of read Eunos Roadster (1993).
So being the honest Jo that I am, I rang them up and confess all and all it cost was £50.00 including my mods
Yes I check mine as they once charged me for Legal Assistance but missed it of the Policy. But there again I am a bit long in the tooth and don’t trust any of these firms to do any thing right.
and dont foreget , if you change insurance companys, at renewall, PHONE the old company to cancel, cos a lot of them take it for granted, that if you dont say so, they automatically renew you old policy…
last year i changed ins cos, paid my dues with the new copany, over a month later, my card showed two ins amounts taken out, i chased an amount by an unknown broker, and found it was for ins renewall of the year befores policy, phoned them, they said we automatically renew if we dont hear from you,and why did you go to another company, ,i said cheaper, told them the amount,as expected,O WELL WE COULD HAVE MATCHED THAT, i asked for re-imbersement,and about two weeks later i got back £153, from a £320 policy i had not asked for, be warned,
