Will MK2 wheels fit a MK1?

Hi there,

As the topic title suggests, will the 14" alloy wheels from a MK2 fit a MK1?

Thanks,

James

I had Mk2 5 spokes on my Mk1 no problem PCD 100 4 stud IIRC.

Thanks a bunch

If they are stock you have no issue as they are pretty much the same car in most areas.
Preffered off-set on the mk1 is 45mm Vs the Mk2’s 40mm but not a lot else in it. Original wheels should be no issue to fit.

Cheers
Jonathan

 14" Mk2 wheels were still 45 offset.

Offset on 15" Mk2 Alloy is 40mm, Offset on 14" Mk2 Steel is 45mm, Offset on 14" MK2 Alloy is 40mm (not factory fit for UK market). Mk1 Alloy wheel offset is 45mm (only 14" listed).

Hello All

I am thinking of getting these wheels, which are 15" offset 40, and I will put them on a MK1.

Does anyone know if Mazda ever made a recommendation as to whether it should be 40 or 45 offset when going from a 14" to a 15" on a MK1?

Cheers,

Rich

The factory fitted 15" BBS on my 1996 S-Special are 45mm. On my 1992 M2-Inc car, mazda fitted 45mm 15" Panasports. Some of the 15" wheels fitted by mazda UK to various Mk1 special editions were 38-35mm I believe.

Any wheel that is the correct diameter and width, 4-stud, 100mm PCD and offset between 38 and 45mm will fit but just be wary of the bore.  Mk 1 and 2 used 54.1mm so smaller than that won’t fit and larger will need a set of spigot rings to reduce it to 54.1 - for example the wheels on my Clio were 72.1 so needed to come down to 60.1 to fit, so I could put them on my MX-5 by buying a set of 70.1/54.1 spigot rings.

(Don’t know why they need all these 0.1mms!)

ETA  Should have added that the wheel fitment guide can be found here:
