My front and rear foglights have stopped working and the illumination on the switch for the front & the light on the dash for the rears don’t work.
I have checked BTN1 fuse in the engine bay & the fuse under the dash and they are both ok.
Whilst the engine was running, I got my Multimeter out and tested for voltages at the relay, and the switch
This is the Relay

Blue X 14.8v 14.8v
Red/Blk X 14.8v 14.8v
As the red/white cable is the only one that doesn’t connect to the two foglight switch, I assumed this would be the feed to the foglights, but as its got a permanent feed, then that idea went out the window.
Seems odd that there is only one relay as well, which I assume is for the front foglights, which probably draw more power.

I could do with getting hold of a wiring diagram for the switch, so I know which wire does what!
Thanks.
Something of a puzzle here, I have the wiring diagram for a 2004 model and the front fog lamp relay colours are:- 1. lt.green/red positive feed from BTN1 fuse, 2 white, relay to front fog lamp fuse 14, continuing green/yellow to front fog lights. The actuator for the front foglamp relay is fed from the headlamp relay on 3,a red/yellow wire then 4, on a pink/blue wire to the front foglamp switch. Are you sure that you have located the correct relay? It could be that the colours are different for your model year. Perhaps a search behind the dash to the right of the steering wheel might locate a relay to match. The relay you describe may be for the rear fog light for which I do not have a diagram.
Hope this is of some help. Regards Geoff Peace.
Thats really odd.
The only wires that I could see going to a relay to the right of the steering wheel from the back of the switch where the ones mentioned.
The rest of the wires go of as a part bound group to a black box on the left hand side under the dash.
Wen I left this group of wires unplugged, none of the lights worked. Seems to be the junction box that feeds to the switch when the lights are on, so you cant put the fogs on on their own.
There should be several realays under the dash to the right hand side of the steering wheel, fuel pump, heater blower, front fog lights, heated rear window, direction indicator. If you remove the cover to the fuse box and shine a light through you should see them. The fog lights should not operate unless the sidelights are illuminated .
Regards Geoff Peace.
Yes, I took the cover off under the steering wheel column and I found a cluster of relays to the right of the column & pulled one down easily which is the one with the wires going to the switch.
But as mentioned, there is also part of the loom that goes under the steering wheel column to another black box attached on the left hand side.
This appears to be the box that controls the lights, (side, dipped & main beam).
Again without an accurate wiring diagram, its too complicated to determine which wire does what.
I remember the good old days of wiring foglights! One off the lighting circuit, one off the battery, one of the switch and an earth!!
Now fixed.
When Mazda dealer had the car to investigate the non starting issue & found the damaged Crank nose, they took the wheel archliners out to undo the anti roll bars to get the pulley wheel off.
In doing so, for some reason they disconnected two earth leads. Found a suitable earthed bolt, put the circular spades on it & they now work.
