Yet More Decorating

Another lovely day here in West Yorkshire :grimacing:

Not done much this morning but have managed to ‘unwrap’ the tub and start draining it, in advance of moving it across to its new location. Hopefully, the weather might ease :crossed_fingers:i can get on with finishing the tub platform and move the electrics. The new heavy duty gazebo arrived, slightly smaller than the one on the top decking at 2.5m2. It will provide decent weather protection, allowing winter use of the tub! :ok_hand:

While waiting for weather to turn, took the mx5 for its MOT. Passed with flying colours, no advisories :+1:pleased with that, hopefully will get more use out of it next year? Only covered 1500 miles since last December.

Didn’t put many miles on mine this year either we had so much planned for the spring and summer , then we all know what happened.:rage: Let’s all hope for better times next year.

Although I’m sure you know what your doing, but a good quality water based gloss or satin wood benefits from a decent undercoat first, avoid foam rollers as that can cause frothy bubbles, but a fine flock finished foam roller works well on architraves etc, these rollers often have an orange flock finish and are often used for varnish etc along with a decent brush , just a tip

Kitchen duties this morning, well after a cooked breakfast. More sealant jobs, it needed doing and being as I have half a tube left, it was out with the old and squirt in the new.
Missus refuses to go in the kitchen today, it stinks of sealant, chippy tonight.:+1:

She also mentioned something about paint and walls and skirting, I’m going a little deaf, football is on the box later.

Another neat job there Mick :+1: Ah, yes, football  Leeds travel to play Chelsea tonight :crossed_fingers:

A few fans allowed in there then Barrie.:+1:

No fans for us, currently watching live stream (well I should be) Burton v Crewe.

Yes it’s a funny one Mick, 2,000 fans allowed in but all Chelsea! We aren’t allowed (tier 3 and all that) I read that tickets were a minimum of £75 and up, only available to ‘premier’ & gold members. Grass roots fans won’t get a look in. Anyway, we’re getting our fair share of TV matches so happy with that :+1:

Up the Brewers!! I presume that’s your team?

Kick off not while 8.00pm tonight.

Yes the Brewers Barrie, season ticket holder (renewed this season in anticipation) but got free streaming instead, just home matches. Promised a refund too on all matches missed, not sure as yet how that’s going to work.
The match, we seem to get caught out with a late goal, yet again today 88 mins. Needed those 3 points, it ain’t going well this season but on the whole fair result I guess.:+1:

Yes, I realise this isn’t really the place to post this but having uploaded a few pics previously, here’s a couple more of Barney and Bear!

They’re not always the easiest to photograph but at least the Poinsettia didn’t move!
Bear has really settled in now, its as if he’s always been with us!

Gone posh today, finally got carpet fitted in the lounge this morning. No more draughty floorboards and dust. New sofas not due until mid jan and need some pictures and stuff to finish off, but at least it feels like a proper room now

Spent the morning revitalising his & hers Brasher boots. Got some leather treatment from an equestrian supplier.
Mrs A’s are only 10 years old and still look good, mine are 20 years old and showing their age now, still water tight but some very deep cracks in the leather now.
Been looking at replacements but it’ll have to wait until next year, they’ll last I hope they are so comfortable.
Money well spent when we bought these.

Earlier this week and revamped.

Here go again, the missus shouts, the vacuum cleaner has packed in. Dead, no life in it.
Something to do indoors hooray! not really.
Tried the usually, plug, fuse etc…
About two years ago I rewired it, well just the mains cable leading to the switch it. One of the connections had pulled apart soon sorted that one. The drive belt looked worse for wear also, I had a spare to fit. Gave it a clean up in there and small amount of oil on the brush bar.
It’s all back to life and sounds much better now, not bad for 30 years old.

Well done that man! :+1:

Is this the “triggers broom” of the vacuum cleaner world. A wooden brush! Fantastic

Oreck the name, unlike triggers broom it’s had just one replacement brush bar, 3 belts and a rewire. Yeah real wood, usually plastic stuff these days.

Oh I bought a secondhand outer dust bag cover about 3 years ago, the original had holes in it, good old eBay.

Back to shed love today, we now have power to it.
