This is a 1996 Mk1 MX5 Merlot for sale near Coventry at £5500 ono.
This is the HSA and MX5OC Championship Trophy-winning car It had finished in the top three, every year for the last 7 years of competition, up until 2019, so it is very competitive as a Hill-Climb and Sprint car, it would be equally well suited as a very good track day car.
The car also had a mention in the 2020 April edition of the Soft Top/Hard Top MX5 Owners Club magazine on Page 18 about the HSA MX5 Championship with a small picture of Merlot and a very nice write-up.
The engine alone has cost around 7.5k.
Currently has a wrap, with the Merlot Vin Rouge paint underneath.
The engine is fully balanced with forged H Beam Rods and produced 182.9bhp on Fuji Racing Throttle Bodies.
The car will come with 12 months MOT but is currently SORN.
