1.8 or 2l?

Hello, continuing my research on what to buy. Narrowed down, for me, a 3.5 version, is there much of a difference between the 1.8 and 2.00 version? My thoughts were to go for the 1.8 option re overall costs. The car will be used for local use 100 miles max journey, bit on the A30 in Cornwall, and around Cornish B roads. Used most days etc. 

Any people who have driven both versions would be helpful and other relevant comments please!

As the cars get older my opinion is the 2.0 one is the one everyone will want…I believe the mk4 will go the same way

YES when people buy new they find it hard to justify the addition cost but I find the 2.0 will sell everyday where as we struggle to move the 1.8’s

as an example

only last week I took in a 2.0 z sport in px and sold it within 3 days, where as I have a 2008 1.8 with leather etc and are struggling to sell at £2500
