14 deg. timing question

Did the 14 timing adjustment on my 1995 1.8L when I first got it 6 years ago. Very pleased with it. Seems like an improvement in torque. Quicker off the mark.

Just wondering how much this has increased the acceleration.

So my question is: Has anyone done any 0-60mph tests on 14 degrees?

Well as no one has answered why do you not do some 0 - 60mph tests on your car, reset the ignition timeing back to standard then test again and advise the board of the answers.

Good small project for you!

Looking forward to your answers!

Not sure how to get the best 0-60 time. ie what revs give the best torque to drop the clutch and then change gear.  Also don’t know how to accurately measure the time.

I would suggest any variation in acceleration is probably going to be so marginally as to be more or less undetectable, given all the other factors that will affect a timed run, such as weight of car during test (fuel level, driver, passenger, etc etc) natural decrease in power of an old engine, level of grip, clutch slip, air intake efficiency, exhaust efficiency, air resistance, (hood up or down). and so on and so on…
