16" winter tyre recommedations fro NC3 Mk3.5

I’m in the market for a set of 16" winter tyres to fit onto a spare set of rims, (no rush at the moment - just looking and will get them closer to Nov) but looking for advice and opinion for 205/50R16 options.

I’ve had 18"  Continental 830P on my F31 BMW 335d, and Dunlop Wintersport 4s on my Previous e91 320d BMW and Vredestein Snowtracks  on my old mini. - all of which were pretty good

Are there any that suit the Mk3.5, or are to avoid?

Thanks

I can thoroughly recommend Goodyear Ultragrip 9s. I have a set of steel winter wheels with these for my Mk2., they work so well on my car I considered keeping them on all year round!

Autoexpress do a winter tyre test every year. have a look there.

I just used their recommended winter tyre on my own Impreza and friends VW cars over the past 4 years and they were fine.

Do not get too hung up on brands of winter tyres, sensible driving in the winter is much more important than brand. I have been using winter tyres since 1981 and sensible driving is always the most important thing.

Mine did one season after refurb on uniroyal ms plus 77 i found them fine for Winter (although the car does little mileage)

Just got a set of 4 x Continental WinterContact TS860 in 205/50/16/ 87H fitted to my winter wheel rims in anticipation of the winter. I’ll put them on the car sometime in November

I have Toyo Snowproxes as my winter tyres. Driven in snow with them and was quite impressed. They will be back on the car in November but if we get plenty of severe weather I will be in the L200 ( also has Toyo Mud & Snow tyres fitted as standard)
