- My model of MX-5 is: 3.75 sport tech
- I’m based near: kent
- I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: wheel/tyre setups
Hi all,
Does anyone else have the above setup?
Would anyone be able to post pics of the wheel and tyre combinations in 215/45/17 and 225/45/17 on an 8 inch wide wheel.
I understand that the 225 would be more comfortable and a bit more grippy but the 215 might be a little sharper handling and an easier fit. Concerned about the sidewall heights being a bit too chunky on 225/45 but am open to an arch roll as I know someone and can have it done easily.
Many thanks in advance.
Mine fitted with 215/45/17 - 17 x8" Rota Titan with PS4 Tyres!

Thank you
. What offset are they do you know? I’ve gone for 42 for a fairly flush fitment. I very nearly went for titans but went for a dished rpf1 style wheel instead (not very original I know).
Also, did your car come with the sport diffuser or did you add it? I’d like one but they seem to be hard to come by. Might even try mazda directly.
They are ET45. The arches are also rolled to be on the safe side. Also has MeisterR CRD coilovers, I think 225 would be too much and ruin the handling.
Sport diffuser ?
The boot spoiler is from Carbon Miata.
Yes the lower diffuser, looks great. I think it’s called mazda sport but may have come standard on your edition. Mine just has the plain one.
I’ll have the rear arches rolled back flat if necessary but don’t want them pulled at all. I know meister get great reviews but I’ve had experience with tein and I like the brand so will probably go flex z - doesn’t help that meister seem to have got very confident with their pricing.
I think you’re right that 225 may be a bit much, but always prefer to see how they sit on the car. I don’t trust Google pics because you’ll often see the same car with different wheel specs listed on different sites or missing the tyre size.
