Loads of high res pictures here: http://s1378.photobucket.com/user/banni1947/library/
Car is located in Nuneaton, Warwickshire. First registered 1/6/1998. First registered in UK 2/7/2008
I’m advertising this on behalf of my aunty. She’s asking for £3,995. Unfortunately my uncle passed away in December and left behind what can only be described as his pride and joy. My uncle owned the car from 15/6/11.
He adored this car for the reasons that I’m sure everyone here already knows. He spent hours cleaning and personalising it as you will see from the pictures. I would say that for its age it’s in incredibly good condition. There won’t be many out there that have been kept this well.
Apart from how it looks cosmetically, it hasn’t really been altered much mechanically. It has been lowered slightly and there are also wheel spacers fitted to suit how my uncle wanted it to sit. He had a race tube fitted on 3/3/17 replacing the centre silencer, to give it a bit more of a growl. New brake discs and pads were fitted to all 4 wheels on 15/8/17.
Current mileage is 52,978. Since my uncle bought it 8 years ago he has only driven approx 16,000 miles. He has never driven it out in the wet and it has been kept in his garage at all other times.
You can see from the pictures that he made a lot of small cosmetic changes. He was a lover of ‘carbon’ wrap and used it in many places, inside and out. There is an aftermarket front grill as well as headlight ‘eyebrows’. He also has added a lot of yellow stitching to the cabin. The rear lights are covered in a stick on black mesh as are the side indicators. There are little details all over that he added. All can be removed if they aren’t to the next owners taste.
Under the bonnet he went to town with yellow and chrome tubing and even custom made covers to box in parts he didn’t like the look of. I can’t stress enough just how many hours he spent on this car. You can see he made alterations to the air intake.
It is rock solid underneath. The only rust is a small area on the offside sill at the base of the wheel arch. This was present when he bought it 8 years ago and as the car has been kept dry it never developed and my uncle didn’t want to disturb it without reason to. I imagine it’ll be an easy fix if someone wants to. While on the bad stuff, there is a small rip in the roof above the driver’s door window and the rear tyres are close to needing replacing. It hasn’t failed an MOT since June 2008!
I’m guessing the car was originally white. The underneath of the boot was hand painted yellow by my uncle, but underneath the bonnet and the engine bay are still white.
The car was looked after by Dave at DJS Automotive Ltd in Earl Shilton so if there are any questions I’m sure between the two of us we should be able to answer them.
My uncle would have wanted this car to pass to an enthusiast which is why we are advertising it to MX5 lovers and not on ebay.
