2.5 engine swap

  1. My model of MX-5 is: __2011 2.0 NC3.5
  2. I’m based near: __Newcastle
  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: __ 2.5 engine swap

Looking at this…Ford built 2.5 Duratec HE I4 std crate engine new can anyone tell me if this will fit into the MK3 MX5 without having to swap the sump etc like i’ve read about when people do a conversion…?

I’m just sort of formulating a bit of a plan…

As I won’t be buying from Roddisons I’d not call him up just for his expertise. I think that sort of thing is bad form. I realise a lot of people have no issues with such things but it’s not my style. Appreciate your reply though Keith_W

I believe all 2.5 swaps require sump change and balance shaft delete.

It’s far more involved than you would initially realise. You’ll need sump, cam cover, oil pick up, front pulley, crank sensor from a 2ltr, block off BS oil feed, find a dipstick etc.
