Ive had a chat with Mazda On Track about group discounts and have arranged for 10+ cars to get 20% off Blyton days. The whole idea behind this discount is that its kept to like minded folk who want a good day out, with good driving manners, a bit of a social gathering and perhaps some well placed banter.
So far for the 21st of March Ive got at least 10 cars together, mostly a mix of MX5s and various forms of Honda.
The day consists of the full, original Outer Circuit all day which kicks off at 9am after the usual signing on and then a safety briefing, an hours stop for lunch with hot food on offer (and petrol available a few miles down the road) then back on track til 5pm. Expect the normal high level of respectful driving for MOT days along with the usual relaxed, but fair, attitude of the organisers and an overall fun and safe trackday. These days are perfect for first timers as theres huge areas of run-off and plenty of friendly help and advice on offer along with evenly matched cars and no chavs or massive egos out on track.

If anyone is wondering why I am posting this rather than MOT, then its because I have regularly gotten a decent bunch together for their Blyton days as they are a lot of fun and I chanced my hand this year at asking for discount, so here we are with what was offered with the above conditions. I am making nothing from it, just the same discount as anyone else.
Nitty gritty - Boils down to £100 instead of £125 for a nice day of driving.
Well done for managing to get so many cars on track so early in the year, we in the east of the country have booked Snetterton with MOT for the 3rd of march as part of a double deal for only £99. Followed by Cadwell on the 23rd. Lets just pray for good weather in march.

Hi, Peter. I must say I am quite surprised at the response so far. We have at least 11 definites now, most booked, the rest awaiting payday and there is a list in front of me with another 9 interested names. Some of us have done a good few trackdays and lots of laps of Blyton, for some its their first time on track, so a good mix of good folk.
Snetterton sounds tempting too, thats a very good deal for two very good circuits. I have seen that deal on other forums that I use. Work prevents me going to those unfortunately, but I expect at least a modest group of us will do Cadwell with MOT again at some point this year.
The previous Blyton bashes have fallen in busy times for me with one thing or another, annoying as Im only just down the road, so we will attempt to make it this year, thanks.
I had booked in with MOT at Blyton for the 14th Feb. Unfortunately, due to only 4 cars being booked in, and I was x2 Nick has had to cancel. I’ve been offered other dates and the 21st March being one of them. Having caught up on this post might go for this. Be nice to meet other 5 owners as I’ve only done Oulton a couple of times and there was a severe lack of 5’s
Just a heads up, people - this is booking up very well, with more to come this weekend as its pay day for many. Plenty of MX5s booked with a good few regulars amongst them and some first timers too which is great to see.

I know the majority of the people who have booked and theyre good people with good track manners which makes the day that much more pleasant.
Spaces are still available, but be aware that the discount wont run forever, take advantage while you can.
Youll be fine, Tim. Plenty of people will be willing to help out with advice and sit in the passenger seat to help with lines etc while their own cars cool down. Dont be afraid to pop over to the CRX bunch and ask for me if youre stuck, I’ll happily come out with you or take you out in mine and help where I can, its what the MOT days are all about.
Really looking forward to this now, shaping up to be a cracking day out. I’m still relatively new to track days but more than happy to help, give advice, limited it may be, to anyone who’s new to them. I’ll be in a graphite 2.5 along with future son-in-law in his yellow Mk2, come and say hello It’s his first event too.

It would be good to have a chat. Theres not that many people who I know well that come to trackdays - Im more involved in CRXs and not many tend to use them on track unfortunately.
