2003 Mk 2.5 1.8 SVT Sport 6 speed

I have just purchased the above with a noisy diff. The price was very reasonable! It has done 60000 miles.

Reading about LSDs on a BOFI Racing website it says that the SVT had a Super Fuji clutch style diff, with 3.6 ratio, and that these diffs fail over time?

It also recommends that the centre is changed for an ATB or KAAZ style clutch pack, or a “Torsen insert”

Can anyone advise on what the best option is and where the clutch packs or Torsen inserts can be obtained. I will be using the car for hillclimbing and speed events

I would like to end up with 4.1 final drive

The Torsen type 2 fitted to the earlier MK2.5 SVT sport, etc has a similar ratio to the SuperFuji that replace it - roughly 3.6.

Most of the other MK2.5 cars with the standard diff have a ratio of 4.1.

If you particularly require an LSD with  4.1 ratio will need to be the Torsen type 1 fitted to some 1.8 MK1 cars(94/95) or type 2 with the 4.1 ratio fitted to MK2 1.8 sport, etc. Quite hard to find and expensive - £400?

Or - you could have bought my car - a lot cheaper!

Just replaced my Fuji diff on my 2005 2.5 Icon for the same reason.

Cost me £700 for a used Type 2 Torsen 4.1 diff (including P&P) with 6800 miles on it

What a difference!!!
