Thanks for the add.
Previous owner (from new) of 2011 nc 3.5 sport tech hard top sold after five enjoyable years. Sold my Porsche boxster s 3.2litre in April 24 and returned to an mx5 when a low mileage (41.5k) 2005 nc launch edition came up for sale within ten miles of home. Could not resist it as garaged from new, some rear end rust treatment undertaken by main dealer previously, and full service history and clean recent mot in march. Had my trusted local mechanic look it over on the ramp after purchase and declared ok. Premium oil change and new filter done last week. Couple of hundred miles driven since purchase including a run over black mountains top gear route yesterday with west Wales cars and coffee group. Planning on a new set of matched tyres soon plus replace the back box with a stainless Cobalt one and get the original alloys refurbished at some point over the winter. Love the velocity red paint and red leather seats.
I think this one might be a keeper😎

Welcome to the LE side.
I’ve had mine for almost 15 years now, just turned 61k (20,400 on it by the 1st owner).
Hope you have many happy miles.

Those alloys look in good shape. Refurbished at some point?
Any particular tyres which you have found to suit the car? I think I had the original Bridgestone ones on my 2011 sport tech. Trying to decide between a new set of pilot sport 5s or toya proxy sports or replacing the kumo 71s which a lot of MK3 owners seem to be happy with.
Yes, refurbed a couple of times now before I was happy with the finish. I have Goodyear Eagle F1’s on all four wheels.

Both fine looking cars, fell in love with this edition when I started looking at NC’s.
My first arranged viewing was a Launch Edition, that fell at the first hurdle really when the seller let me down. Couldn’t find another so bought a True red sport but later a complete interior from a Launch Edition became available, I bought that and swapped my interior out.
Happy motoring, enjoy👍

Noted Davy, is there a colour code for the alloys to keep them as original as possible?
No, unfortunately not.
I was lucky as the bodyshop that I worked at had a great painter who did them the last time. He called me into the booth when he was laying down the colour to see how many more topcoats I wanted as every further coat changes the colour. He had three coats on and I decided to go for a forth which (IMO) was the ideal number and I think was the correct decision for getting as close to the original finish as possible.
Thanks Davy, there is a good quality refurb shop near here who my son used for his gr86 coupe’s alloys, so I will pop the car there to see what they can do for mine to get them looking like new.

Hi. Great looking car. When I was looking to buy my first MX-5 I was distracted by a low mileage 2001 Boxster S. Eventually I settled on a 2009 NC2 sport tec PRHT which I’m enjoying hugely. Was just wondering why you made the switch and how you would compare the two. Cheers and welcome to the group.
I always wanted to try a boxster and bought a 3.2s locally in nice blue colour. Low mileage 70k on W 2000 plate. It had a few age issues and my local mechanic found a mouse nest in the air filter lol. I enjoyed driving it on the Twisties here in west Wales and the engine was sweet after a full service. I prefer my current mx5 NC le for driving position and reliability plus I got 40mpg on a long run up to north Wales to through Snowdonia last week compared to around 23mpg in the boxster. I don’t worry about reliability or high repair costs with the mx5 and I love the interior of the NC le model.
