This car starts, runs, moves and stops, but has a knocking noise when the engine is lightly revved. I bought it like this with grand hopes of fixing and using it myself, however I simply prefer my MK2, and the MK3 has become a project that sadly never got the attention it deserves from me - it’s time for it to find a new home.
The car has been resprayed, however it is not an insurance category or repair job - I’m told a previous owner had a friend with a spray shop that wanted to practice. It’s purple, with some blue in certain light, turning bronze in bright sunlight. There is a small tin of the paint still in the boot. Although very presentable, the paint is not perfect, please don’t arrive expecting it to be so.
The car itself had a reconditioned engine from Roddisons approx 40,000 miles ago, although I’ve been stupid and lost the paperwork for it. There’s still a folder full of receipts and old MOTs to come with the car, and quite honestly, everything looks to be in good condition. I believe it has some slight modifications, I can see an IL Motorsport exhaust manifold and there is a cone type air filter located behind the front grill.
The car should be on around 120,000 miles but I’m not certain, I don’t have a battery in the car currently.
MOT until 23/11/19. I’m the 5th keeper. Numberplates removed ready for my personal plates, but it never got that far… It is registered as HK55 YME, plates are with the car but would need sticking back on.
Located in Brandon, Suffolk. Delivery may be possible, but only after the car has been viewed. Due to the engine knocking and not being taxed or insured it will not be going on public roads for a test drive.
