I have fitted a double din Kenwood with associated fascia and cables and seems to work ok but the seller has sent me Bose steering control cables.
I might just buy a Bose amplifier and speakers to upgrade.
Is it possible/anyone done it ?. Pitfalls/things to watch out for ?.
Thanks
The steering wheel controls are the same for both units.
I fitted the connects 2 unit to my bose equipped sport
I fitted the same connects 2 unit to my mates SE ( non bose )
The difference was that his speakers are driven by the head unit.
My speakers are driven by the bose amp ( pre-amp feed from head to amp )
The actual steering wheel control connections were the same.
Thanks,
I will ring/email Connects2 shortly because the seller probably doesn’t want to know.
I asked if it would work before I bought it so I don’t know why steering controls isn’t working.
I’ll have a play with it in the daylight tomorrow.
If it is the connects 2 unit - you normally have to go in to the head unit settings and teach the head unit what the controls do.
Also - I believe there is a link wire or two to cut for different head units.
The instructions tell you which loops to cut depending on the head unit you are using.
Thanks,
I’ll have look in the settings.
I know what you mean by the wires that need cut, I’ve done that.
You may need a different SW patch lead.
I’d ring Dynamic sounds and tell them what kit you have and head unit to be sure of getting the correct one.
I did similar when swapping mine over, changed the patch leads.
