I am selling my BBR MX5, nicknamed the “Gherkin”. This car has a famous history within the UK MX5 community (previously owned by the late Neil McIntee) a long standing member of the MX5OC. I’ve been honoured to own this car over the summer but unfortunately I’m needing something with a boot for work.
The car is in fantastic condition for its age, absolutely no rust on sills and the car has been undersealed. The car is close to show car condition and has been maintained by enthusiasts for its entire life. It also has a comprehensive history with every part and service meticulously recorded in a folder.
The driving experience is incredible with the BBR conversion which amplifies the driving character of the MX5. The engine is much more eager to rev (7850RPM) with more torque and power on offer. There are no squeaks or rattles from the suspension, the gearbox is very smooth and tactile (just as the MX5 is famous for) and the brakes stop really strongly.
I personally believe this is one of the best examples of an MX5 NC in the country and the new owner will have many years of enjoyment from driving it.
Since purchasing the car I have fitted a new battery, spark plugs, brake pads and had the wheels refurbished.
The only bad points worth noting are that the car has a few small stone chips to the paintwork and the passenger door won’t automatically lock with central locking and needs to be manually locked.
