2021 ND2 2.0L soft top RHD plug socket on passenger side of centre console

  1. My model of MX-5 is: __ND2
  2. I’m based near: __Cheshire
  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: __socket passenger side of console

As the title says, I have noticed a socket on passenger side of centre console. It looks like it should have a lid on it, but it hasn’t. The car went in to dealer late last year and they read fault codes for the keyless ignition and I’m wondering if that’s the port they use for that and they forgot to refit the covering lid before handing the car back?

If it’s not that, what is the socket for?

The OBD port that’s used for diagnostics is located in the driver’s footwell, so that’s not it.

Can you take a photo of the area you’re talking about?

It’s the accessory power socket.

I thought that, it’s not exactly obvious. Mine was open on delivery but did have a captive cover.

I think you may be looking at the slot for one of the cup holders.

My mistake, as Malc says its athe slot for the cup holder

If that’s what we’re talking about, then someone helpful has covers available if you’re not using one of the cupholders in it!
