20th Anniversary mx5

I noticed in this months magazine there is a article about the limited edition 20th anniversary mx5 some of the cars have red seats, are these retro fit as i have the standard black ones in my white one.

i was in a 20ae red on sunday and it’s seats were also black so …

If you dont get a reply I will try to find out Tuesday for you. As the article features my fellow Wessex members and it is our monthly meet on Tuesday. I assumed they were just an option.

Hi Phil,

Thanks for trying to find out for me, but there were no seat options on the 20th anniversary.

I asked one of the guys who has the red seats in his 20th anniversary, and it was something he and another owner had done by our local dealer. As you say there is not an official option but the dealer had them done by “Medici”. I had a look at the brochure for the latest MX-5 ltd editon the “Miyako” and that is listed as having “Medici” leather seats. So maybe it is something you could have done if you really wanted to.

Thanks Phil,  whats the name of your local dealer ?

                                                                                          Regards John.

John , our local dealer is Magna Mazda, Canford Cliffs, Poole,Dorset. BH13 7LP. 01202 701222. They support our local Wessex area club superbly so am sure they will be able to advise you.

 Hi John/Phil

I’m glad this question came up. I was wondering exactly the same thing. I have a blue 20th and as far as I was aware they came as they came apart from little extra bits fitted by dealers.

Those red seats do look really good against the white bodywork. I might have gone for the white if they were fitted as standard.

Julian

Hi Julian,

How are you getting on with your blue 20th ?

                                                                             Regards John.

Hi Phil,

Thanks for your help with the dealer details.

                                                                      Regards John.

 Hi John

Getting on really well with it. Done just under 2000 miles since 1st May. Keeping it shiny, the blue looks great in the sun but every time I see pictures of the white ones I wonder if maybe I should have had one? Ride and handling are excellent although I haven’t tried the 2.0 sport to compare. Love every minute of driving, even going to work at 6a.m.

Compared to my old Mk1 is like comparing night and day. I think people will have different opinions here. I loved everything about the Mk1 but…? Maybe there are no butsBig Smile!! I do miss it but no regrets.

Regards

Julian
