Does anyone know what the tail pipes are on the 25th Anniversary are? Are they available to buy?
From what I understand it’s just a stock back box with different tips. I don’t like the peashooters on my mk3.75, but as it’s my daily drive, I don’t want a droning or noisey back box. I just want subtle tips that fill the the holes in the diffuser
I have a 3.75 and I know what you mean about the pea shooter exhaust, mine is also my daily drive and I have fitted a Cobra Race back box with very nice 4" tail pipes, the exhaust is not that load and is actually getting better the more it is driven, sounds great when you put your foot down a bit with a nice burble and the odd subtle pop.
My brother has a 25th anniversary and we think the box is different to mine it is also slightly loader than my original box, you could give Cobra a ring and see if they will make you a set of reducers and purchase a pair of the very nice tail pipes to put onto your standard box.
I changed my back box without even jacking the car up takes about 30 minutes if you have a cuppa whilst doing it.
Thanks IanH, did the compatibility check and they won’t fit mine.
Warbird, thanks for that. Don’t suppose you have any pics? I would love a Larini but they don’t make then anymore, I’m waiting for one of the 4 in Yorkshire Ridings to get a mk4 so I can have theirs lol. Would like a louder exhaust for runs etc but worried it’d be annoying for everyday
I will take some pictures tomorrow and put them on hear, I was worried that it would annoy me but did 130 mile in it last weekend and was actually nice not that load at all we could still hear road noise and wind noise above the exhaust, it did have a slightly annoying vibration around 3000rpm just for a short while but I have traced it to the boot floor and may be that big heat shield made of very thin alloy.
I have sorted it by placing two large folded dust sheets and an armourgaurd ground sheet in the boot and now I think it is almost as quiet as the standard box driving round town, I have some sound proofing coming at the weekend to stick to the boot floor so should be even better.
