Hi Theo
I sanded it and sprayed it with the “ textured “ paint I used on the boot panels, then a couple of coats of lacquer
Looks better in the flesh
I scrubbed my knob (oh!matron ) then applied some black shoe polish then some black dubbin. It looked great but like leather shoes needs reapplying occasionally as it gets scuffed again. I don’t think these OEM knobs are actually “real leather” covered.
Ideally I’m looking for a nice leather and chrome gear knob.
‘dubbin’
By eck lad that takes me back to my school days.
Just out of interest why can’t you polish in the garage?
Hi malc
I took it outside just for better light and bit of fresh air
Completed polishing once back inside garage
FYI … garage is 12x 22 ft so yes I have room around it if parked centrally
Normally parked in black area
Was hoping to take her out for maiden voyage today but our oven packed in yesterday, so spent this morning finding and fitting new and disposing of old oven
Now I’m on babysitting duties
For grand- daughter
O well, maybe tomorrow
Looking good Geoff, don’t forget the number plates
After all that hard work, how come you’re selling it?
I bought it to bring it back up to a great standard as it was looking rather unloved…
I’m not desperate to sell as I’ve only just insured it
I was searching for a ND ( mk4) when I dropped on this so still wanting to collect the full set
Hi mick ,
lol , I know was going to fit a smaller plate but not had it out as yet
The front plate you’ve put on is really small…I can’t see it
Nice day for a drive though
work in progress
old front plate refitted ,
then out in fresh air for a "boxing day polish " , work off them calories
finally polished and covered …
mission completed !!!
If i didn’t have two 5s already, then… well this would be a great addition
