2nd car, limited mileage policies

Morning! What do most people do for 2nd car policies? Are there any companies that offer classic car type insurance with limited mileage? Looking to insure an NC 3.5 as a second car (so would obviously need to start a fresh NCB with a mainstream insurer), but was wondering if you could get anything like this? I’ve heard of some limited mileage policies designed for 2nd cars that are good value but you don’t accrue a NCB with them. Has anyone seen anything like this for an MX5?

I’m with them for my JDM NB

Just a classic car policy you need, with agreed value and limited mileage.

Plenty of providers of you Google it, including Adrian Flux, Carole Nash, I’m with Heritage insurance Classic Car Insurance | Specialist Cover Quotes | Heritage

I’ve been with with Lancaster since I bought my car four years ago. I’ve got a 3000 miles a year policy, it does generate a NCD and for not a lot of money. There are plenty of companies who do classic policies and some come up on the comparison sites too.

I have mine with Admiral on a multi car policy, both cars on 5k miles p a.
Give them a go and mention mirroring you main cars policy NCD.

I just declare 4k per year and go with whoever comes up cheapest on Confused.com.
Although I will only go with names i’ve heard of.

I am an old fart with a million years no claims, my renewal hangs around £120 for the year.

When I got my nd, I asked my main insurer to give me a quote, they gave me 5 years ncd to start. They weren’t the cheapest but was a matter of a few pounds. Year 2 I have 6 years ncd and I swapped it away from them and got it for almost half the price. And my ncd is now protected.

My current insurer has come up trumps! Having gotten a quote from Adrian Flux as a second car, I tried my Admiral Multi car insurance. They gave me 18yrs introductory bonus, then quoted me half of the Adrian Flux quote. Very pleased indeed! :star_struck:
