On our cars the self levelling is not done by the mechanical actuator on the rear suspension as it was in earlier cars so this is something to think about when ordering.
The PartsSouq is a useful site and I have ordered some parts from them. The site does show a number of headlamp options, but it’s difficult to link them to my part number / QR code.
The Ebay search is also useful, but the word “Adaptive” which appears on a number of parts, is a bit vague (AFS or ALH ?). I was looking at this one which also states “Adaptive” :
AFS (Adaptive Front Lighting System) is what was standard on Sport Nav+ (and therefore I expect the 30AE), this provides corning illumination based on steering input. You may get HBC (High Beam Control) too which dips the full beam in reaction to oncoming vehicles.
ALH (Adaptive LED Headlamps) was only on MX-5s that had the optional Safety Pack specified until 2020 when the new Sport Tech and later Homura trims got it included. This system automatically adjusts the range, area and brightness of illumination based on speed and what the FSC sees. With ALH you get green A headlamp symbol in the instrument cluster when headlamps are auto and full beam is selected (not sure this is the case with lesser AFS & HBC). If you’ve driven with ALH active at night you’ll know, it’s pretty magic watching it place oncoming traffic in a moving shadow!
TLDR: Odds are you’ve got an AFS car, ALH is rare until 2020 onwards.
