Has anyone done a 365 photo project and have experience of any of the specific hosts for this activity?
Appreciate there are the likes of Flickr, Imgur etc and there are a few who offer a paid option for a specific presentation. I don’t mind paying a small fee for a quality presence however would like to take advantage of the collective hive mind’s experience.
Never heard of such a thing before so I looked it up and see I have done several projects along those lines cutting photographs out of news papers with various themes during and immediately after my art student days.
I got the ball rolling in Barcelona where I noticed a chap called Ronaldo appeared on the front cover of all the Spanish News papers everyday. For 90 days I bought a paper called El Mundo Deportivo, which I later found out translates to The World of Sport and cut out 660 photos of Ronaldo and edited and framed each one to fit in a 35mm slide mount. They looked pretty cool on the wall and the paper even sent round a reporter and photographer to do a little story on the exhibition.
That all ended a couple of years later when every day for an entire football season I bought The Times and mounted all the pics with footballs in 35 mm slide mounts. Came to just under a thousand images. The final piece was called Times a Ball.
Any way never tried anything similar with photography though I had plenty of hints from Gethardt Richter’s book The Daily Practice Of Painting, what I was missing was the invaluable stimulus of a dead line.
Anyway hope that gives you some food for thought, there are some tips from a Redditor who has given it a go here :-Reddit - Dive into anything
