Pardon the ignorance

You need to find out the pcd (pitch circle diameter), MX-5 wheels are 100mm, but a lot of others are 113mm so won’t fit. You need 4x100 PCD wheels to fit.
You also need to check the centre bore size too - MX5 ones are a bit smaller than the 4 stud VW / Audi / SEAT group so although the rims fit, they are only centered by the studs and not the hub itself.
http://www.alloyguide.com/Mazda.php shows normal bore size is 54.1 but be careful looking up these guides, many have the wrong bore for our cars…
Andy, isn’t it possible to buy a set of wheel shims or spacers or whatever they are called to allow for this? I remember a particular golf of one of my kids had them fitted. Bl**dy awful things!
Yep, look up spigot rings - they can do the job of filling in the gap if you are using a larger bore rim. That’s what many of the new rims advertised on Ebay and the like will need, not just the correct PCD.
They work, but frankly I’d rather source a rim that fits correctly without them…
Thanks - “spigots” thats the jobbie.
Looking down a similar route myself after reading this
http://www.mx5oc.co.uk/forum/forums/t/249.aspx
page, so am I right in reading that Clio Williams or Calibra wheels will fit (for instance) to our '93 Roadster model?

So as listed above, 4 studs and 100 stud diameter would do the job? 14" or 15"rims would be ok too?
Cheers
Having read around a bit more, are the bores any different on hubs?? Should these be accurately measured, as I’m in with a chance of some nice new alloys for around £250… Cheers guys
