4 Wheel Alignment - Essex/Herts

Hi,

I’ve got a 2013 MK3.5 Sport Tech (2.0). 6 weeks ago it had it’s 4 year service. The rear tyres reported as having 5mm tread depth across the whole tyre.

Now, in the last week I’ve noticed both rear tyres have a fair amount of wear on the outside 25% of the tyre. I’ve only covered about a thousand miles since then.

A local garage that I’ve used for non MX work had a look today. They reported that there are no obvious suspension issues and can only suggest getting a 4 wheel alignment done. I’m not so keen on using a large nation wide garage to do this, any recommendations on who best to take it to?

Thanks for any help or advice you may have.

Cheers.

DB.

Well worth a trip to visit Wheels in Motion, they did my NC and I’d recommend them…

Seconded.  They told me they do one or two MX5 almost every day, so know the cars intimately.

When mine was done (in Chesham) I followed a brand new Ferrari from the local dealer having it checked before delivery to the customer, and as I left a brand new Aston on trade plates arrived for the same.

Thanks for all the help.

WIM might be a little far at the moment given how much the tyres have worn. But, it does sound like the plan to go.

I appreciate your time and help

They supply and fit tyres as well, Blackboots (WIM) prices are competitive and they will get in the tyres you want.  If you are considering replacing tyres then it is also the best time to have the alignment done.

They also give me 10% discount for MX5 OC without me asking, but I did have the current year’s sticker on the windscreen.

I second this, originally took mine to ATS (new MX5 owner and knew no better) and they messed it all up. WIM had it on the Hunter Align system and it was all sorted in no time. Great place

Tony at WiM is reknowned for knowing all there is to know about MX5 alignment. It’s worth the extra miles to go and see him.
