I am arranging a 48 hour challenge for the Oxford area. The challenge is to leave the starting point in Oxfordshire at 18:00 on Friday the 24 July, head to John O’ Groats for breakfast Saturday, then to Lands End for breakfast Sunday morning and return to the starting point for 18:00 on Sunday the 26th. It is not a race and it will not be timed and no prizes given, just a challenge to see if we can complete the route within 48 hours. The provisional route is 1800 miles and takes around 35 hours of driving so we have 13 hours for fuel and refreshment stops. Along the way I am hoping to have a few checkpoints where we have to take a picture to prove we have kept to the prescribed route. It would also be a fun way to raise some funds for a local charity.
