'91 NA BRG LE - Speed Wobble

  1. My model of MX-5 is: 1991 BRG LE
  2. I’m based near: Birmingham
  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on what I think is called speed wobble.

So I have had my BRG LE for 8 months now, and have just put on new coilovers and tyres (balanced and tracked) as it was on 17 year old tyres and probably the same age for suspension.

The car is sat on its OEM fitted 15" OZ Racing alloys, but has a wobble around 60/65mph and it gets worse upto 80mph.

There seems to be a huge discussion about similar issues on here, but from the threads I’ve read, there doesn’t feel (to me anyway) and exact answer.

Where do I start? Is there a list of what to go through or is it just put up with it thing!

Are the wheels round?

Take it back to the garage that fitted the coil overs and new tyres and explain the problem. It might be that you require new suspension bushes but they should be able to identify the problem.
