'96 Eunos Engine Bay Earthing

Hi all,  my very recently imported 1996 Eunos has a series of what look like professionally installed earth wires connecting various components in the engine bay. As I don’t actually have the car yet (awaiting V5) - I haven’t been able to investigate further, but I’m baffled.  You can see them in the accompanying photos as the pale blue leads - they look like plastic-coated washing line.

Why would they have been installed? - and is there any logical reason why I shouldn’t remove them? - for a tidier engine bay.  Ta.

I’m guessing the main engine to chassis wire has rotted away and someone has put them in place as a temporary measure or quick fix they ain’t been installed by a professional or if they have he was crap at his job I’d be getting my p 45 if I did work like that lol

These earthing kits are a relatively popular “performance” upgrade in Japan.

Wow.

I had no idea.   So if I strip it all out, I’m going to lose, what - 5bhp?  10?

Thanks chaps.

Many older cars have these fitted to maintain the earthing circuit, not perhaps the neatest of jobs but if the car is running fine then I suggest leaving them in place as you may just end up with hassle if you take them off.
